I am very happy to welcome you all here today.
While our business performance has been relatively stable over the past few years, the environment surrounding us continues to change rapidly, and for the MOL Group to continue to grow steadily in such an environment, we need an appropriate business strategy.
We are currently committed to three primary challenges. The first is environmental responsiveness, including reductions of greenhouse gas (GHG), with the target of achieving net-zero GHG emissions for the entire group by 2050. Currently, we plan to reduce GHG emissions as much as possible by switching ship fuel from heavy oil to liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and methanol, which produce relatively low GHG emissions, and by using hard sail wind power propulsion system "Wind Challenger." GHG reduction is an urgent task that requires expense, labor, and technology innovation, but we are committed to working proactively toward our target of net-zero GHG emissions.
The second is to build a globally competitive organization. Previously, our business was centered on Japan, but in the future, we will further expand our business to countries around the world, including Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and South America, setting the stage for success on a global scale.
Third, we will focus on non-shipping businesses to achieve stable growth. We aim to transform our business portfolio by focusing not only on the traditional shipping business, but also on non-shipping sectors such as the offshore, logistics, real property, and cruise businesses.
It is the human capital of each and every one of you that will address these challenges. We are working to raise the level of our business operations by fully utilizing your know-how and expertise and by bringing together the best practices from around the world.
I look forward to working with all of you as we strive for continued success in the future.
