DAIBIRU CORPORATION (President & CEO: Takashi Maruyama, Head office: Kita-ku, Osaka), a group company of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto, Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo), has completed the introduction of emissions-free power (Note 1) at total 29 domestic and international properties (Note 2).
As a result, we have achieved the introduction of 100% emissions-free power, which is a requirement of the RE100 (Note 3) global corporate renewable energy initiative and will be able to reduce annual CO2 emissions by about 32,000 tons (Note 4). This reduction is equivalent to the emissions of about 19,000 households.
In the group management plan "BLUE ACTION 2035," our group has positioned its environmental and portfolio strategies, which is to reform its business portfolio to ensure profitability even during times of shipping recession by increasing the weight of non-shipping and stable profitability businesses that cover the highly volatile shipping market, as one of its main strategies. This initiative is in line with both environmental and portfolio strategies.
We will meet the evolving social needs including environmental conservation, with innovative technology and services and aim to be a strong and resilient corporate group that grows globally.
