Social Contribution through Food - Participation in "Onigiri Action" to Deliver School Meals to Children in Developing Countries

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) will participate as a supporting partner in the international social contribution activity "Onigiri Action 2025," organized by the non-profit organization TABLE FOR TWO International(TFT) (Note 1). This initiative commemorates October 16, "World Food Day," designated by the United Nations as a day to reflect on global food issues. During the campaign period, posting photos of rice balls (onigiri) on SNS (X, Instagram, Facebook) or the special campaign website will help deliver school meals to children in Africa and Asia. Anyone can participate for free, and for each photo posted, five school meals will be donated through TABLE FOR TWO by sponsoring companies.

Through this initiative, MOL aim to deliver warm meals to children around the world and contribute to solving social issues.

(Note 1) Established in October 2007. "TABLE FOR TWO (TFT)" literally means "a table for two." The concept is for people in developed countries and children in developing countries to share meals. When you purchase a TFT menu item at a cafeteria or store, part of the proceeds is donated, providing one school meal to a child suffering from hunger. About 700 organizations, including companies, government agencies, universities, and hospitals, participate. Support is provided mainly in five countries in East Africa and Southeast Asia (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and the Philippines), including school meal provision and programs to improve gardening and productivity. The cumulative number of meals provided exceeds 110 million.

"BLUE ACTION MOL" is a general term for the Sustainable Action by MOL Group that balance corporate growth and a sustainable society. We have incorporated the intention "for ALL" to promote social contribution activities as a group for all environments and creatures on earth into this word and have set MOL Group's social contribution activities as "BLUE ACTION for ALL", as the group's social contribution activities to promote activities based on priority areas.
