TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that it donated US$40,000 to support the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) (Note 1) as the first Japanese company. This donation will be used for activities to promote gender equality and women's empowerment throughout the world, led by the WEPs Secretariat.
MOL Group has continued to pursue various initiatives related to the promotion of women's active engagement based on the basic policy of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Basic Policy, revised in August 2023. Through this donation, the group will realize the theme of International Women's Day 2024 (Note 2), "Invest in women: Accelerate progress," and support activities for gender equality not only within the group but also throughout the world.
As a corporate group where all individuals can maximize their abilities and play active roles, MOL will continue to respect diverse personalities and values, aiming for harmony with all people involved with the group and sustainable development and promotion of local communities.
(Note 1) The Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a set of Principles for actively working to promote the advancement of women, jointly developed by the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women in March 2010. MOL endorsed its intent and signed a statement in October 2022 to act in accordance with the principles.

Principle 6: Promote equality through community initiatives and advocacy
Principle 7: Measure and publicly report on progress to achieve gender equality
