MOL Training Center (India)

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines is the first Japanese shipping company to establish its own manning company in India. The main purpose was to recruit and train shipboard personnel for MOL vessels managed by In-house Ship Managers.

The company was established as Mitsui O.S.K. Manning Service S.A. liaison office in December 1995 and transferred the name as Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Maritime (India) Private Ltd., on 01 April 2001.

Limited In-house training activities were being conducted within the office premises.

MOLTC-MOLMI - LNG Piping Panel

In February 2001, MOL Training Centre (India) was established in collaboration with International Maritime Training Centre (IMTC) - a part of Barber International Ltd. MOL provided various training equipment - NABCO Main Engine Remote Control Simulator, Festo Hydraulic and Pneumatic Training Modules, Various Engine Equipment. This training centre conducts Bridge Resource Management Training using Bridge Simulator made by Kongsberg.

Training facilities in MOLMI office was expanded in September 2005 with the installation of a PC based LNG Cargo and Turbine Simulator and Deck Piping Panel which was fabricated locally. The Simulator has one instructor and four student stations and the software is based on the Full Mission LNG Cargo and Turbine Simulator of MOLTC (Japan).

Besides the LNG Cargo and Turbine Simulator, the facilities at MOLTC-MOLMI include various Computer Based Training programs like ECDIS; Pure Car Carrier, Container and Bulk Carrier Familiarization and other lecture based training. MOLMI Office in Kolkata is also equipped with limited Computer based training programs.
