TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced access rankings for its news releases during 2022.

This year, MOL Group established its "Rolling Plan 2022" management plan and the "MOL Sustainability Plan," aimed at realizing the group-wide vision, and developed various social infrastructure businesses, centering on marine transportation and addressing changing social concerns, including environmental protection, with evolving technologies and services.

Following is a list of the most frequently accessed press releases through the MOL website this year, along with the five "Sustainability Issues (Materiality)" identified in the MOL Sustainability Plan as "social issues that the MOL Group should give priority to through its business activities."


1. Safe & Value - Provide added value through safe transportation and our social infrastructure business -

To further improve "safety quality," MOL Group has strengthened the organizational structure that supports safe operations, and thoroughly implemented safe operations through tabletop drills and other measures.
As part of its initiatives on "portfolio strategy," which strengthens non-shipping businesses to ensure stable profitability, MOL made Daibiru Corporation, a real estate business, and Utoc Corporation, a logistics and port business, into wholly owned subsidiaries. In addition, as part of its "regional strategy," MOL is aggressively pursuing business development globally, with an emphasis on Asia, and strengthening its non-shipping business overseas. Furthermore, MOL Group will promote renewable energy projects such as offshore wind power, wave power, and ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) to provide even greater added value.


2. Environment - Conservation for Marine and global environment -

The MOL Group made concerted group-wide efforts in low-carbon and decarbonization projects based on the "MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.1."
MOL Group has made steady progress on the construction of LNG-fueled vessels as a GHG reduction measure that can be realized immediately, and reduced fuel consumption during operations through enhanced operating efficiency. It also promoted activities that lead to the preservation of the marine environment and biodiversity.


3. Human & Community - Contributing to the growth and development of people and communities -

MOL Group focuses on initiatives that lead to successful coexistence with everyone involved in the group and sustainable development of local communities. 4. Innovation - Innovation for development in marine technology -

MOL Group has begun development of ammonia-fueled vessels and liquefied CO2 carriers as it strives to realize net-zero emission vessels while introducing and expanding the use of clean energy. It also promoted energy conservation on vessels through the completion of the first vessel equipped with the "Wind Challenger," which uses wind as propulsion. In addition, the company has launched full-scale initiatives to develop and introduce autonomous operation technology and digital transformation (DX) for safe operation.


5. Governance - Governance and compliance to support businesses -

Through the "MOL Sustainability Plan," established by the MOL Group this year, it has enhanced corporate governance and strengthened compliance.
MOL will ensure transparency in the management of the group, aim to build a foundation for addressing social issues through its business activities, and create a sustainable value chain in consideration of human rights, safety, and the environment.
